Cross Country (Men's)

Program Philosophy

Cross Country and Track and Field provides student athletes, regardless of their athletic level, an opportunity to expand their physiological, psychological and social selves. It is through effective/efficient training and positive expectations, incorporating all the aforementioned components, that participation provides measurable and intangible beneficial opportunities for the student athlete.

 

Coaching Biography

 

Coach Morgan Clark enters her third year as the head coach of Boys' Cross Country, as well as an assistant coach for Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. She was previously the head coach for Indoor and Outdoor Track at a high school in Newark for several years.
 
Coach Clark's own running experience comes from seven years of competing in Cross Country and Track. She competed at Nike Cross Nationals with Colts Neck High School in 2006, where they placed 4th nationally. They also won the NJ Cross Country Meet of Champions that year. She achieved All-American status in Track at the 2008 National Scholastic Indoor Track Championship, finishing 4th nationally in the 4x1mile relay (#5 NJ All-time). Her personal bests include: 5:19 in the 1600m, 2:24 in the 800m, 11:40 in the 3200m, 62.5 in the 400m, and 19:40 in the 5K (Thompson park). Coach Clark continues to run and compete in races such as the New Jersey Marathon.
