Program Philosophy

Cross Country and Track and Field provides student athletes, regardless of their athletic level, an opportunity to expand their physiological, psychological and social selves.  It is through effective/efficient training and positive expectations, incorporating all the aforementioned components, that participation provides measurable and intangible beneficial opportunities for the student athlete.


Coaching Biography


Roland D’Orvilliers has coached the Spotswood High School Cross Country team since 2000.  He has lead the Cross Country teams to one NJSIAA Group championship, two NJSIAA Group Sectional championships, and eight GMC Division titles.  Coach D’Orvilliers has been recognized as the Greater Middlesex Conference Coach of the Year four times and GMC Division Coach of the Year nine times.  He is currently employed as a secretary for the Spotswood School District.
