Program Philosophy

The philosophy of the Spotswood Tennis program is to provide a comprehensive tennis experience, complete with a summer training session and a fall season, thus maintaining a competitive level of performance in the classroom and on the field of play.  The foundation of the Spotswood Tennis program is based on work ethic and learning.  It is the goal of the coaching staff to provide individualized attention in the development of each player in the program.  

Coaching Biography

Dan Krainski is entering his 9th year coaching at Spotswood High School. During his tenure at Spotswood, Coach Krainski has been a Head Boy’s Tennis Coach for 9 seasons, Head Wrestling Coach for 5 seasons, Head Girls’ Tennis Coach for 4 seasons, Head Middle School Wrestling Coach for 3 seasons and Assistant Football Coach for 4 seasons. In 2018, the Boy’s Tennis Team won the Blue Division title. As a Wrestling Coach, he was able to coach numerous county place winners, 2 district champions, multiple region qualifiers and one state qualifier in 2013. During his tenure with the football program, the Spotswood Chargers won 3 consecutive Blue Division titles.

His sports background began at Sayreville High School as a Football player, where he made the All-Division, All-GMC and All-Group teams. As a wrestler, he was a captain of his team along with a county and district place winner. He continued his athletic career at Montclair State where he played linebacker from 2004-2008.
