Soccer (Men's)

Program Philosphy

High school sports, in this case the boys soccer program, is an extension of the educational missions and aims of the school and district.  This means we look at the educational process in addition to athletic achievement.  Our philosophy involves developing each individual both academically and athletically.

We look to develop the soccer player based on the 4 pillars of soccer:  technical, tactical, psychological, and physical.  Training sessions are built around these 4 pillars and focus on soccer specific fitness, speed and quality of play, technical execution, and tactical understanding on both sides of the ball.  Each day we want the player to be better than they were the day before.  We do that by instilling a good work ethic, leadership skills, morals, and other characteristics which can be carried through the rest of their lives.  Our goal is to push each player to reach their next level, whatever that may be for each individual.

In addition to developing the individual, we look to developing the team as well.  Teamwork, chemistry, and commitment to shared goals are skills that will serve the players well in the future.  We play a style of soccer which is built on individual skill within a team concept.  We are organized in defense and we look to attack the other team when in possession of the ball.  Players are expected to play hard, play smart, and play together.
