Student of the Month

Congratulations are extended to Spotswood High School's Students of the Month for the 2018/19 school year:
 
April 2019 - Isabella Patrone-Black
Isabella Patrone-Black is a bright and conscientious student with an enthusiasm for learning. She is a valuable member of the school community, participating in a variety of extra and co-curricular activities including: Concert Band, Drama Club, Charger Pride Alliance and Honors Wind Ensemble. Throughout her high school career, Isabella has participated in Concert band as a Percussionist and during her Senior year, she was selected to participate in Honors Wind Ensemble. In the Fall, Isabella plans to attend college to purse career in the Education.
 
March 2019 - Evelyn Smith
Evelyn Smith is an exceptionally motivated student who consistently selects and excels in academically rigorous courses. In addition, Evelyn has served as President of the National Honor Society where she has assisted with peer tutoring and has overseen various fundraisers including this year's volleyball tournament. Evelyn has also served as a peer mentor assisting at Freshman Orientation and mentoring in-coming Freshman students. In the Fall, Evelyn plans to pursue a career in biochemistry. We wish her much success!
 
February 2019 - Matthew Vento
Matthew Vento is a leader in every way.   As a member of both the SHS Varsity basketball and baseball teams, Matthew has won multiple awards, broken records and been selected as Captain of both teams.  Additionally, he is member of the National Honor Society, and Student Council as well as a talented musician.
 
January 2019 - Emilie Devoe
Emilie has been described by her teacher as inquisitive, charming, kind, and friendly. Emilie is actively involved in school and community activities. While in high school, she has been an integral member of our Drama Club, Environmental Club, and Yearbook Club. Emilie currently serves as our yearbook photographer. During her junior year, Emilie was inducted in the National Honor Society, a prestigious honor here at the high school. Outside of school, Emilie has been a competitive gymnast for many years. Emilie’s dedication and devotion to gymnastics is truly admirable.

Emilie is always looking for ways to help others and is truly passionate about community service. Each year, Emilie has taken part in a mission trip to Pennsylvania. Additionally, she has volunteered at the local soup kitchen as well as at children’s Christmas parties.

Emilie's kind heart, outgoing personality, and dedication to school and community actives make her a stellar Student of the Month!

November 2018 - Sean Duffy
Within the school community, Sean is an integral member of our varsity soccer team where he currently utilizes his strong leadership skills serving as the team captain.  Sean has been a dedicated member of our DECA program and received first place for his Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan at the state-level competition.  Sean is a kind, dependable, and hardworking individual who is well respected by both his teachers and his peers making his an excellent choice for Student of the Month!

September 2018 - Justin Acheampong
Justin is an active member of our school community.  Justin has enjoyed the competition and teamwork of our Cross Country, Winter Track, and Spring Track teams.  Utilizing his exceptional leadership skills, Justin has served as team captain for both our Winter Track and Spring Track teams as well as Class President.  Justin has also been an active member of TEAMS, Student Government, and a group leader for Heroes and Cool Kids.  Additionally, Justin has served as the Student Representative for the Board of Education for the past two years.  Justin is truly a dedicated and personable student who is held in the highest regard by both his teachers and his peers making his an excellent choice for Student of the Month!
