School Counseling is looking for students in grades 9-11 who possess strong leadership and communication skills as well as a desire to contribute to a positive school culture to apply for our Peer Mentor program!
Peer mentors will receive training and ongoing support as they work with their assigned mentee and/or new student. Peer mentors welcome new students, volunteer at school events (such as Freshman Orientation), invite students to sit at their lunch table, serve as one on one mentors, and bring new ideas to enhance our school community. Peer mentors are required to attend the peer mentor training and several meetings throughout the school year.
Beside the personal growth and experience a student receives from the Peer Mentor program, being a peer mentor is an excellent way for a student to provide a community service and is a valuable addition on a college or job application.
Applications are due Wednesday, December 4, 2019. See the attached peer mentor letter for program details and how to apply.
