Program Philosophy

The philosophy of the Spotswood Tennis program is to provide a comprehensive tennis experience, thus maintaining a competitive level of performance in the classroom and on the field of play. The foundation of the Spotswood Tennis program is based on work ethic and learning. It is the goal of the coaching staff to provide individualized attention in the development of each player in the program.

Coaching Biography


Dan Krainski begins his 2nd year as both head wrestling coach and head tennis coach. A graduate of Montclair State University, Coach Krainski played football for the Red Hawks from 2004-2008. During that tenure, the Red Hawks totaled 33 wins and won the 2007 ECAC Southeast Bowl.

In his first year as head wrestling coach, his overall record was 10-12. Two wrestlers this year qualified through Regions with one wrestler qualifying for State Wrestling Tournament in Atlantic City (Top 24 in NJ). As a wrestling coach, Krainski coached at Sayreville as both an assistant for high school and head coach for the middle school. He also coached the Applegarth Middle School team in 2010 to a regular season and tournament championship. During his first year as head tennis coach, the team was able to win three matches.

During his coaching tenure, Krainski coached football as an assistant at Monroe Township High School from 2009-2010. During the 2009 season, Monroe won the 2009 Central Jersey Group 3 Sectional Championship and was the number one team ranked in the GMC during the final standings. He also coached at Edison High School during the 2011 season before coming to Spotswood.
